Refund Policy

1. All Sales Are Final
All purchases of paid subscription plans (Pro and Premium) are final and non-refundable. By subscribing to a paid plan, you acknowledge and agree that no refunds will be issued for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Dissatisfaction with the Service or its features;
- Dissatisfaction with the quality of AI-generated output;
- Failure to use the Service or to use all available generations or refinements during a billing period;
- Forgetting to cancel before a renewal date;
- Changes to features, pricing, or usage limits (with appropriate notice provided);
- Technical issues affecting individual generation requests (the Service remains available).
We encourage you to use the Free plan to evaluate the Service before committing to a paid subscription. The Free plan provides access to the core functionality so you can make an informed decision.
2. Free Plan
The Free plan is provided at no cost and with no financial obligation. We recommend using the Free plan to try the Service before purchasing a paid subscription. No refund is applicable to the Free plan.
3. Billing Cycles and Auto-Renewal
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually). Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date.
It is your responsibility to cancel your subscription before the next renewal date if you do not wish to be charged for an additional billing period. We are not obligated to issue refunds for renewal charges.
4. Cancellation
You may cancel your paid subscription at any time through the billing page within the Service. When you cancel:
- Your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period;
- You retain access to paid features until that date;
- No refund or credit is issued for the remaining period;
- After the period ends, your account reverts to the Free plan;
- Your previously generated specifications remain accessible;
- You can undo a pending cancellation at any time before the period ends.
5. Plan Changes
5.1 Upgrades
When you upgrade your plan (e.g., Pro to Premium), you are charged a prorated amount immediately for the remainder of your current billing period. Upgrades take effect immediately and are non-refundable.
5.2 Downgrades
When you downgrade your plan (e.g., Premium to Pro), the change is scheduled to take effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain access to your higher-tier features until that date. No refund or credit is issued for the remaining period.
5.3 Billing Interval Changes
Monthly to annual: Takes effect immediately with prorated billing.
Annual to monthly: Scheduled to take effect at the end of your current annual period. No refund or credit is issued for the remaining annual period.
6. Billing Errors
If you believe you have been charged incorrectly (e.g., double-charged or charged after a cancellation should have taken effect), please contact us at support@octacognition.com with details of the issue. We will investigate and, if a billing error is confirmed, work with our payment processor to correct it.
7. Gifted Subscriptions
Gifted (complimentary) subscriptions are provided at no cost and at our sole discretion. Since no payment is made for gifted subscriptions, they are not eligible for refunds. Gifted subscriptions may be revoked at any time without notice.
8. Payment Processing
All payment transactions are processed by our third-party payment processor, which acts as the Merchant of Record for all purchases. The payment processor handles all billing, tax collection, and transaction processing.
Any billing disputes should be directed to us first at support@octacognition.com before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or credit card company. We are committed to resolving billing issues promptly. If you initiate a chargeback without first contacting us, your account may be suspended pending investigation.
9. Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Refund Policy is intended to limit or exclude any statutory rights you may have under the laws of your jurisdiction that cannot be lawfully limited or excluded.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a digital content purchase within 14 days under the EU Consumer Rights Directive. However, by using the Service and requesting the generation of AI content, you acknowledge that the supply of digital content has begun with your express consent, and you agree to waive your right of withdrawal to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Consumers in certain jurisdictions may have additional rights under local consumer protection laws. To the extent any provision of this Refund Policy conflicts with mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction, the mandatory laws shall prevail.
